Lynda Kelley here, on the early morning show here on Mix 96.7.
I was born and raised outside of Boston, Massachusetts in the town of North Reading. It truly was an idyllic place to grow up. Looking back I don't know why we called it "Lost Reading" and or "North Nothing", I guess that's something that can only be answered by a bored teenager.

I loved my first radio an AM Transistor that introduced me at the age of 7 to Dale Dorman on WRKO, a pop station that took requests, you just had to wait about a day and a half to hear yours. On my 11th birthday I got an AM/FM clock radio and that clinched it. Staying up to all hours listening to that radio under my pillow (so my sister wouldn't tell on me) to all the stations and formats I could get my ears on. It was Charles Laquadera on WBCN "The Rock of Boston" and his team of crazies that woke the city up with the big mattress that did me in. I knew what I wanted to do.
I studied communications at Worcester State College where I had the 3a.m. to 7a.m. shift on WWSC our campus station. We've come a long way since that turntable, 8-Track player and of course the rotary dial phone!
Then life got in the way of my radio dream. I had 2 kids that needed me to be their Mom, so radio took a backseat.
While Living in Santa Barbara I was lucky enough to meet Don Messick, an extroardinary man who voiced Scooby Doo, Papa Smurf, BooBoo(Yogi's buddy)and so many of the beloved characters I had known for years. He took me on as a student where for 2 years I went to his studio in Montecito once a week to learn from the vast array of scripts he had collected over the years, and there were thousands. He helped me hone my timing and compile a voice demo with 18 voices.
My radio break came when I heard a spot on a Santa Barbara radio station looking for the perfect morning partner for Rick Barker as his co-host was about to leave. I went, I auditioned and even though I didn't get that gig, the rest is history.
Starting at KRAZy Country in 2000 was the beginning. I moved over to the Mix after about a year.
